Torus Topology

Here we share some high-level technical information on the operation and design of the Torus. TLDR: The torus is not a complicated piece of engineering. The platform was built this for fun, not to obtain "military-grade" security standard accreditation.

WireGuard specifically uses ChaCha20 for symmetric encryption (with Poly1305 for authentication), which is considered equally secure to AES-256 but faster in software on devices without hardware AES acceleration. It's not "military-grade" in the marketing sense, but it's modern, audited, and solid.

The Torus is a growing system. The initial phase (Phase I) started November 2025. If there is a market, meaning the community embraces the product, we can scale it out based on that pressure.
